Nothing is more important than our customers’ safety, which is why Best Buy has voluntarily recalled certain models of Insignia air fryers and air fryer ovens in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada. The reason for this recall is that these specific models of air fryers and air fryer ovens can overheat, posing potential fire and burn hazards.

United States
Air Fryers: NS-AF32DBK9, NS-AF32MBK9, NS-AF50MBK9, NS-AF53DSS0, NS-AF53MSS0, and NS-AF55DBK9
Air Fryer Ovens: NS-AFO6DBK1 and NS-AFO6DSS1

How can I participate in the recall?

​

This portal will walk you through a verification process to confirm whether or not your air fryer or air fryer oven is one of the recalled models. If you have a recalled unit, please immediately stop using it and register on this site to receive a credit (an electronic gift card) for use at Best Buy stores, BestBuy.com, or BestBuy.ca.

As part of the recall registration process, you will be instructed on how to disable your recalled air fryer or air fryer oven, and to upload a photo of the disabled unit.  After you register Best Buy will review the uploaded photo to confirm that the unit is included in the recall and has been appropriately disabled.  After your registration and documentation is verified, an electronic gift card will be issued to you. The amount of the electronic gift card will be the greater of the price paid on your purchase receipt or the average sales price in the country of purchase ($50 USD for units purchased in the US and $75 CAD for units purchased in Canada). If you are unable to upload a photo of the disabled unit, please call the recall registration number to arrange for an alternate process to receive a prepaid package to ship the recalled unit to Best Buy for verification. Note that this alternate process may add 3-6 weeks for shipping and processing (each way) to the estimated time for receiving your gift card.

Best Buy stores will not provide credits or refunds for recalled air fryers or air fryer ovens returned to stores.

How do I know if I have a recalled model?

​

The air fryers and air fryer ovens have cooking chamber capacities ranging from approximately 3.4 to 10 quarts (3.9 to 11.4 liters). As shown in the photos below, the products have plastic or plastic and stainless-steel bodies in black and stainless-steel finishes, the brand name INSIGNIA is on the top or front of each unit, and a rating label on the underside of each unit identifies the brand INSIGNIA and the model number. The air fryers and air fryer ovens were sold between November 2018 and February 2022.

What if I don't have my receipt?

​

Consumers do not need a purchase receipt to receive a credit for their recalled air fryer or air fryer oven ($50 USD for units purchased in the US and $75 CAD for units purchased in Canada). Best Buy stores will not provide credits or refunds for recalled air fryers or air fryer ovens returned to stores. Consumers who include a copy of the purchase receipt in an uploaded photo indicating they paid a higher amount for their air fryer or air fryer oven will receive a credit for the higher price paid. If you ordered online, you should search your email account for the order email and print the email as your purchase receipt and include it in your uploaded photo. If you no longer have a store receipt or order email, but you used a My BestBuy account when you purchased the product (either online or in store), you can log in to your account, search for the product, and find the price you paid. You should print that page and include it in your uploaded photo.

When will I receive my gift card?

​

After Best Buy reviews the required photo documentation and verifies that the unit is a recalled model and it has been disabled according to Best Buy’s instructions, you will receive your electronic gift card link by email in approximately 3 weeks. The subject line will be Best Buy Insignia sent you a Best Buy® Gift Card from the sender corporategiftcards@giftcards.bestbuy.com. Make sure to check your spam, junk, trash, and promotions folder in case your security settings have moved the email there.
